New Brunswick Aboriginal Peoples Council

Wabanaki Enterprise Inc. was incorporated in 1985 and is the Economic Development portion of the New Brunswick Aboriginal Peoples Council. Wabanaki is an aboriginal owned and operated Corporation and is a for-profit company that had as its original mission the establishment of aboriginal businesses under its control to employ and train aboriginal people and to re-invest profits into other profit making ventures.

Wabanaki has an elected Board of Directors and one ex-officio Director from the New Brunswick Aboriginal Peoples Council. The Board of Directors is elected at the Annual General Assembly and all Directors must be of aboriginal descent.

Officers shall be appointed by the Board of Directors at the first meeting of the Board of Directors after the annual election of Directors.

Wabanaki owns and maintains three properties, a ten unit apartment building in downtown Fredericton, a thirteen unit student residence in St. Andrews and a vacant lot in St. Andrews with potential for development .
