Restigouche Fishery Area

means all lakes, rivers and streams of the Restigouche River and tributaries upstream of the J.C. Van Horne Bridge at Campbellton.

Southeast Fishery Area

Limit: 1SW per day, Size: Less than 63 cm (fork length). Method: Angling gear only. Location/Date: Benjamin River: Apr. 15 to Oct. 22, 2015 , Charlo River: Apr. 15 to Oct. 22, 2015 , Jacquet River: June 1 to Oct.15, 2015, Miramichi River: Apr. 15 to Oct. 15, 2015 , Nepisiguit River: June 1 to Oct. 15, 2015, Restigouche River: June 1 to Aug. 31, 2015, Tabusintac River: Apr. 15 to Oct. 29, 2015. Each grilse retained must be tagged using a valid tag issued by DFO.

American Eel:

10 per day, Size: Min. 35cm (Saint John River drainage system) Min. 53cm (Tidal waters that flow into the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Northumberland Strait). Method: Angling gear. Location: Saint John River drainage system and the tidal waters that flow into the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Northumberland Strait only, including the tidal waters of Restigouche, Gloucester, Northumberland, Kent, and Westmorland counties. Access to the Bay of Chaleur. Dates: Apr. 13, 2015 to Mar. 31, 2016, (Apr. 13, Aug. 31, 2015 Spearing , Spearing Nov. 16, 2015 to Mar. 31, 2016.

American Shad:

Limit: 10 per day. Method: Angling gear only. Location: In the open waters of the watershed of the Bay of Fundy and of Miramichi River Only. Date: Apr. 13, 2015 to Mar. 31, 2016.

Burbot:

Limit: 10 per day. Size: Minimum 10cm - Maximum 100cm in length. Method: Angling gear only. Location: Lower Saint John &Southwest Fishery Areas: Date: Apr. 15 to Oct. 15, 2015 , Lakes: May 1 to Oct. 15, 2015. Upper Saint John Fishery Area: May 1 to Oct. 15, 2015.

Catfish (Brown Bullhead):

20 per day. Method: Angling gear only. Location: In the rivers, brooks, streams and lakes of the Open waters of the Saint John River system only. Date: June 1 to Oct. 15, 2015.

Chain Pickerel:

Limit: 10 per day. Size: Minimum 10cm - Maximum 100cm in length. Method: Angling gear only. Location/Date: Inner Bay of Fundy & Lower Saint John & Southwest Fishery Area: Rivers - Apr. 15 to Oct. 15, 2015 , Lakes - May 1 to Oct. 15, 2015 , Upper Saint John: May 1 to Oct. 15, 2015

Clams:

Limit: Soft-shell Clams 100, Bar Clams 100, Bay Quahaugs 100, Razor Clams 100. (No more than 300 clams of all species of clams combined can be caught and retained in any one day). Size: Soft Shell clams equal to or greater than 50mm (2 inches), Bar Clams equal to or greater than 102mm (4 inches), Bay Quahaugs equal to or greater than 50mm (2inches), Razor Clams no size limit. Method: Hand and handheld tools. Location: In the tidal waters of that borders the Gulf of St Lawrence and the Northumberland Strait. Dates: Soft-shell clams, Bay Quahaugs and Razor Clams: Apr. 13 to Dec. 31, 2015. Bar Clams: Apr. 13 to Jun. 30, 2015, Sept. 1 to Dec. 31, 2015.

Exception: All Clams Inland and tidal waters in that portion of New Brunswick between Johnston Point and the Nova Scotia/New Brunswick border at Baie Verte.

Soft-Shell Clams:

Limit: 100 per day. Size: Equal to or greater than 44mm (2 inches). Location: In the tidal waters of that portion of New Brunswick that borders on the Bay of Fundy Only. Date: April 1to December 31, 2015.

For health reasons, the harvesting of clams in areas closed pursuant to the Management of Contaminated Fisheries Regulations (contaminated areas) is prohibited.

Cod:

Limit: 20 per day. Method: Angling gear. Location: Tidal waters of the Bay of Fundy. Date: Apr. 13, 2015 to Mar 31, 2016.

Cod:

Limit: 20 per day. Method: Angling gear. Location: Tidal waters of the Gulf od St. Lawrence and the Northumberland Strait adjacent to the Province of New Brunswick. Date: July 11, 2015 to Aug 16, 2015, Inclusively during the period beginning two hours before sunrise and ending two hours after sunset.

Gaspereau:

Limit: 200 per day. Method: Angling gear and dip netting only. Location: Tidal waters of the St. John river system and the Tidal waters that flow into the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Northumberland Strait. Date: Apr. 1, 2015 to Mar. 31, 2016.

Groundfish:

(except cod, haddock, pollock and halibut). Limit: 50 per day. Method: Angling gear only. Location: In the tidal waters of the Bay of Fundy that borders the Province of New Brunswick only. Date: Apr. 13, 2015 to Mar. 31, 2016.

Herring:

Limit: 200 per day. Method: Angling gear only. Location: In Herring fishing Area 16B, 16C, and 16E Bay of Fundy (the tidal and coastal waters of the Bay of Fundy). Date: Apr. 13, 2015 to Mar. 31, 2016.

Mackerel:

Limit: 200 per day. Method: Angling gear only. Location: In Mackerel Fishing Area 16: Bay of Fundy (tidal and coastal waters of the Bay of Fundy). Date: Apr. 13, 2015 to Mar. 31, 2016.

Muskellunge:

Limit: 10 per day. Size: Minimum 10cm - Maximum length 170cm. Method: Angling gear only. Location/Dates: Lower Saint John: Rivers - Apr. 15 to Oct. 15, 2015, Lakes - May 1 to Oct. 15, 2015, Southwest Fishery Area: Rivers - Apr. 15 to Oct. 15, 2015, Lakes - May 1 to Oct. 15, 2015, Upper Saint John Fishery Area - May. 1 to Oct. 15, 2015

Mussel:

Oyster:

Location: Public oyster fishing areas of the tidal water of the Province of New Brunswick that flow into the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Northumberland Strait only. Date: July 31 to Dec. 31, 2015

Scallop:

Limit: 100 per day. Method: diving only. Date: May 1 to October 31, 2015. Location: The coastal waters of the Province of New Brunswick adjacent to the Gulf of St. Lawrence only.

Scallop:

Limit: 100 per day. Method: diving only. Date: Apr. 13, 2015 to Mar 31, 2016, In the Tidal water of that portion of New Brunswick that borders on the Bay of Fundy only. Size: Minimum shell height of 75mm.

(Exception: A New Brunswick two mile conservation zone from the Canada/US boarder to Cape Spencer is closed from April 1 to 06:00 hours the second Tuesday of January)

Smallmouth Bass:

Limit: 2 per day. Size: Minimum 30cm - Maximum 70cm in length. Method: Angling gear only. Location/Date: Inner Bay of Fundy, May 1 to Oct. 15, 2015, Lower Saint John, May 1 to Oct. 15, 2015, Upper Saint John, May 15 to Oct. 15, 2015, Southwest Fishery Area, and May 1 to Oct 15, 2015. Exception: Boundary waters of the Southwest and Upper Saint John Fishery areas: April 15 to Sept. 30, 2015.

Smelt:

Limit: 100 per day. Method: Angling gear, dip netting or spearing only. spearing is only authorized in tidal waters. Location: In the open waters of the Restigouche, Miramichi, Southeast, Inner Bay of Fundy, Lower Saint John, Southwest and Upper Saint John Fishery areas only. Date: Apr. 15, 2015 to May 31, 2015. Exception: Boundary waters of the Southwest and Upper Saint John Fishery areas: Apr. 15 to Sept. 30, 2015.

Striped Bass:

Limit: 1 per day. Size: Minimum of 68cm or greater in length. Method: Angling gear only. Location: Tidal waters of Saint John River and its tributaries. Saint John River from head of tide at McKinley Ferry to the Mactaquac Dam. Date: Apr 30, 2015 - Mar. 31, 2016. (NO fishing may take place within 25 yards downstream from the lower entrance to any fish-way).

All fishing must cease when water reaches a temperature of 22 degrees Celsius.

Striped Bass:

Limit: 1000 striped bass combined total (any size) Method: Angling gear only. Location: Chaleur Miramichi and Southeast Fishery areas. Date: May 3 to Sept 30, 2015.

Shortnose Sturgeon:

Limit: 2 per day per individual. Size: Minimum length 120cm. Method: Angling gear only. Location: In the tidal waters of the Inner Bay of Fundy, Lower Saint John and Southwest Fishery Areas Date: Apr. 13 to May 31, 2015 / July 1 to Dec. 31, 2015.

Atlantic Sturgeon:

Limit: 8 per day. Size: Minimum length 120cm. Method: Angling gear only. Location: Inner Bay of Fundy, Lower Saint John and Southwest Fishery Areas. Date: Apr. 13 to May 31, 2015/ July 1 to Dec. 31, 2015

Tomcod:

Limit: 20 per day. Method: Angling gear only. Location: Tidal waters of the Bay of Fundy and in the tidal waters of New Brunswick that flow into the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Northumberland Strait only. Date: Apr. 13, 2015 to Mar. 31, 2015.

Trout:

Limit: 10 per day. Method: Angling gear only. Location: Open waters of New Brunswick. Date: Apr. 15 to Dec. 31, 2016.

Whitefish:

Limit: 8 per day. Size: Minimum 10cm - Maximum 70cm in length. Method: Angling gear only. Location: In the open Boundary waters of the Southwest and Upper Saint John Fishery Areas. Date: Apr. 15 to Sept. 30, 2015.
